Custom-made Process
1. What is the custom-made wall molding process?
Our custom-made wall molding service is a tailored design experience where we create frame layouts specifically for your wall dimensions and style preferences. Just share a photo of your wall and the width and height (excluding baseboards and crown molding), and we'll handle the rest—from design to cut-to-size pieces.
2. Why choose a custom-made wall molding kit?
Custom-made kits are perfect if your wall has unique dimensions, outlets, windows, or design inspirations. You get a precise fit, a professionally designed layout, and all pieces pre-cut and labeled for easy installation. It’s ideal for DIYers who want a perfect look with minimal effort.
3. How does the custom-made process work?
To create a custom design, could you please provide:
+Wall height and width — Please provide the height, excluding the baseboard, so we can plan the layout accordingly.
+Outlet or fixed element locations;Let us know their position in relation to the edge of the wall and above the baseboard. And also share the height and width of each element.
+A clear photo of the wall — This helps us better visualize the space and check for proportions or obstacles.
+An inspiration image or sketch — If you have a design style in mind or saw something you liked, feel free to share a reference photo.
Once approved, we pre-cut all pieces, include an installation diagram, and ship your kit.
4. How long does the custom-made process take?
Design and cutting typically take 1–2 business days. If the design phase extends beyond two days due to delays in feedback or excessive revisions, a small design fee may apply.
5. Is there an extra cost for the custom-made design service?
The custom-made design service is free of charge if completed within 2 business days. Our design team allocates dedicated time to each project, so it's important that measurements and details are shared accurately in the first message. If all required information is provided clearly, we typically deliver the design within 1 business day. However, if there are repeated changes or revisions that extend the process beyond 2 business days, a small design service fee may be requested to cover additional time and resources.
6. Is there a price difference between custom-made kits and ready-to-assemble kits?
Yes, there can be a price difference. Ready-to-assemble kits are designed to fit standard packaging sizes, which keeps shipping and handling costs low. In contrast, custom-made kits often require special packaging and additional labor. This can slightly increase the overall cost due to higher shipping fees. That said, we always aim to keep custom-made solutions as affordable as possible while ensuring safe delivery and premium quality.
Installation & Painting
7. Can I install the wall molding kit myself?
Yes, absolutely! All of our wall molding kits are designed with DIY installation in mind. You don’t need professional tools or experience. We will send a detailed step-by-step installation guide to help you through the process.
Here’s what a typical installation looks like:
Layout Planning – Use painter’s tape or a laser level to visualize the frames on your wall.
Adhesive Application – Apply liquid nail adhesive to the back of each molding piece.
Positioning & Mounting – Press each piece into place and make final adjustments using a level.
Finishing – Use caulk to seal gaps and paint for a finished look.
If you're using a peel-and-stick kit, installation is even easier—just clean the wall, peel the backing, and press each piece firmly in place.
We’re always here to support you if you have questions during the process.
8. What is the correct installation order?
The recommended installation sequence is designed to give you a clean, professional finish — even if it’s your first time doing wall molding.
Here’s the ideal order:
-Plan the layout using painter’s tape or a laser level.
-Install the molding pieces using construction adhesive (or peel-and-stick backing).
-Seal the edges with caulk after everything is firmly in place.
-Let the caulk dry, then apply paint as the final step.
Painting after caulking is key — it hides small imperfections, fills gaps, and gives the entire wall a seamless, finished look. For best results, apply two coats of paint.
9. How long does installation take?
Most standard wall molding projects can be completed in 1–3 hours, depending on wall size and your tools. Our kits are beginner-friendly and DIY-ready.
10. Do I need to apply silicone?
Yes, we recommend using silicone only to seal gaps after installation—not for bonding. It ensures a seamless, professional look.
11. What type of paint should I use?
Any water-based or acrylic paint works well. Avoid solvent-based products on hand-painted or factory-primed surfaces. Always test first.
.
12. What should I watch for when using peel and stick molding?
For peel-and-stick moldings, it’s very straightforward: no need for liquid nails—just apply, fill the joints with silicone, and paint if desired.
👉 Please follow these steps carefully for the best results:
1️⃣ Prepare the Surface: Make sure the wall is clean, dry, and smooth. Any dust, moisture, or debris can weaken the adhesive.
2️⃣ Remove the Backing: Gently peel off the protective backing without touching the adhesive too much.
3️⃣ Position and Apply: Align the molding carefully and press it firmly onto the wall. Avoid repositioning too often.
4️⃣ Secure with Pressure: Apply even pressure along the entire molding, especially at edges and corners.
5️⃣ Seal the Joints (Important!): Fill all joints and edges with silicone to prevent dust from getting in, which could weaken adhesion over time. This step is crucial for long-lasting results.
6️⃣ Optional Extra Support: Use painter’s tape temporarily for better hold until fully adhered.
